The teaching of doctrine in today’s church has become a rarity. While I won’t list the scriptures, I will tell you to read I & II Timothy for the answer as to why that is, and also for the importance of teaching sound doctrine.

     For example, a partial quote by the super star pastor of Elevation Church, “we don’t teach from the books of the Bible because it gets in the way of evangelism.”  Or maybe, it’s because the scriptures just got in the way.   You see, good doctrine builds a good solid foundation.  It enables us to tell the truth from falsehood, to have a proper view of the Godhead, our Christian walk, and how we are to conduct ourselves.  It keeps us centered and focused, and the more we are grounded and steadfast, we can face life and the storms of life and the future with confidence.  Join us beginning next Sunday night as we take a look at some history of our denomination and our doctrine.
